CJP Meeting Today LIVE: The National Working Committee of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is scheduled to meet online at 2 PM on Monday, August 24, to decide its next course of action over what the organisation describes as delays in fulfilling commitments made by the Central Government.

The meeting comes after the CJP called off its nationwide agitation on July 25 following assurances from the government regarding several demands raised by students and young protesters. The organisation has now alleged that the commitments have not been implemented within the promised timelines.

CJP to Decide Next Escalation

CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said the National Working Committee would meet virtually because its members are currently working across different states as part of the organisation's 'School Thik Karo' campaign.

Das said the committee would review the government's progress and decide on possible escalation measures. A media statement is expected after the meeting.

The CJP has warned that it could consider further peaceful nationwide mobilisation if the pending assurances are not implemented.

Three Major Demands Raised by CJP

According to the organisation, three major commitments remain unresolved:

1. Withdrawal or quashing of FIRs registered against students and protesters in connection with the demonstrations.
2. Protection from punitive action for students and peaceful protesters.
3. Compensation for families of deceased NEET victims, which the organisation has described as an important pending assurance.

The CJP has accused the government of failing to formally communicate the steps being taken to implement these commitments.

Supreme Court Hearing Adds to Concerns

The issue of FIRs was also raised during the Supreme Court hearing on August 18, according to the CJP. The organisation said the court sought a consolidated list of FIRs registered against students and protesters.

The CJP claimed that such a list could potentially assist the Supreme Court in considering whether its extraordinary powers under Article 142 of the Constitution could be used to address the cases collectively.

Saurav Das and CJP legal affairs lead Ratna Singh subsequently accused the government of failing to adequately respond to the issue. The organisation said it expected the commitments made during negotiations to be honoured "both, in letter and in spirit."

CJP's 'School Thik Karo' Campaign

Alongside its concerns over the earlier protest commitments, the CJP has shifted attention towards government school infrastructure.

CJP founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke wrote to education ministers across the states on Monday, seeking information on government school infrastructure, teacher vacancies and funding.

The organisation has also launched the 'School Thik Karo' campaign, through which its leaders and volunteers are surveying conditions at government schools.

Dipke raised concerns over basic facilities, including drinking water and functional classrooms, and urged governments to treat public education as an urgent priority.

Saurav Das Says He Has Faith in Delhi High Court

Separately, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said he has "full faith in the Delhi High Court" after the court issued notices to Abhijit Mitra, X and Google in a case concerning the alleged disclosure of his residence on social media platforms.

Das said he had filed an injunction suit seeking ₹2 crore in damages from individuals and organisations he alleged were spreading fake news and propaganda against him and invading his private life.

According to Das, the case concerns the right to privacy, and he said platform X had already taken action against the tweets in question.

He expressed confidence that the Delhi High Court would protect privacy rights in the matter.
